ENVIRONMENTAL & WASTE MANAGEMENT ANALYTICS IN THE AREA
Waste Investigation
Waste refers to various materials used by humans that no longer serve a purpose and are discarded by their owner. This can include household waste products like residual or organic waste, as well as industrial waste such as scrap wood or electronic waste.
Ultimately, consumers should always consider whether the product truly belongs in a landfill or if it can still be recycled.
In addition to non-hazardous waste, which can be incinerated or sent to landfills, there is also hazardous waste that must be specially disposed of.
The Landfill Ordinance (DepV) specifies that waste can only be deposited at landfills or landfill sections if it meets the applicable acceptance criteria at the time of delivery.
We can determine which landfill class (DK0, DK I, DK II, or DK III) or landfill section (recultivation layer or geological barrier) your material belongs to, according to the relevant standards.
If additional tests are required, such as determining the calorific value, the respiration activity of bacteria after 4 days (AT4), or the acid neutralization capacity (ANC), feel free to contact us.
Based on the requirements of the Waste Wood Ordinance (AltholzV), waste wood, industrial residual wood, or used wood is classified into categories (A I – IV) to ensure safe material recycling.
With our broad range of analytical capabilities, we can test your waste wood for all criteria according to the applicable standards. Based on the results, our service includes classifying your waste wood into the appropriate category.
We can also determine the proportion of contaminants and sort them from the lab sample.
For wood chips and wood shavings, different criteria apply, and we can assist with their analysis as well.
In waste incineration plants, waste is used to generate energy, providing an additional benefit. When waste is used to produce energy, it is referred to as a waste-to-energy plant (WTE). Each WTE has its own facilities and specific acceptance criteria for the waste it can process.
If you have the acceptance criteria for a WTE facility, we are happy to analyze your waste based on the specified parameters.
If not, we can also contact the operators of the WTE facilities and request the required list of criteria for you.
Whether you need a standard landfill or waste wood declaration or have provided a parameter list from a waste-to-energy plant, we analyze your waste to ensure proper disposal.
