Precision, flexibility and speed in the area of analytical problem solving
The topic of occupational safety is becoming increasingly important in companies. And rightly so. Healthy employees are the foundation of every company. Therefore, it is at the utmost importance to identify and minimize potential hazards at an early stage. We carry out standard-compliant sampling of hazardous substances and measure air and surface contamination in the workplace. In addition to the hazards that can arise in the workplace because of employees' activities, building pollutants such as asbestos, PCBs, PAHs, or mold can also pose a health risk and may require remediation measures.
Hygiene checks in sensitive areas—such as hospitals, kitchens, or ventilation systems—are also part of our range of services. We perform microbiological hygiene monitoring for clinics, retirement homes, and nursing homes. We also carry out the microbiological tests of dental units at dentists and orthodontists required by the RKI.
Any occupational activity involving hazardous substances can pose a health risk to employees. The Hazardous Substances Ordinance requires employers to protect their employees from health risks when handling these substances.
To identify and assess these risks, it is often necessary to determine the concentration of hazardous substances released into the air at the workplace.
Our trained employees have comprehensive expertise in carrying out the relevant measurements, analyzing the samples taken using state-of-the-art technology, and evaluating the results in a meaningful way. Depending on the issue at hand, we use recognized sampling systems and media for sampling. Modern laboratory equipment and experienced, qualified staff ensure a wide range of tests.
We carry out the following tests for you:
Sampling and analysis of A-dust and E-dust
Sampling of welding fumes
Analysis of dust constituents
Although asbestos and other building pollutants such as PAHs and PCBs are no longer permitted to be used today, they may still be present in buildings. With regard to carcinogenic asbestos, this mainly affects buildings constructed before October 31, 1993. Various building materials used in the construction of buildings may contain a wide range of pollutants.
Therefore, before any renovation work is carried out, it is important to check whether building pollutants have been used in the construction so that there is no risk to health during renovation or refurbishment work.
Our services in the field of building pollutants include:
Sampling of building pollutants on site
Analysis of various material samples for pollutants
Expert preliminary investigation in accordance with TRGS 524 prior to building demolition
Creation of a pollutant register of the sampled building materials in the building stock
Ventilation and air conditioning systems pose a hygiene risk because mold and bacteria can grow inside them. These can then enter the air that employees breathe along with the supply air, thereby endangering their health.
For this reason, the VDI 6022 guideline stipulates that such systems must undergo hygiene inspection every 2-3 years. This also includes decentralized systems such as air conditioning units in offices. The systems should also undergo an initial inspection for mold and bacteria before they are put into operation for the first time.
Our services:
Hygiene inspection in accordance with VDI 6022 Sheet 1 with comparative airborne germ measurement and contact tests
Evaluation of microbiological samples
Report with assessment of the system
Hygiene monitoring in clinics, retirement homes, and nursing homes includes sampling and analysis of disinfectant dosing systems, washing machines, bedpan washers, dishwashers, and hot air sterilizers, among other things.
Regular microbiological checks are carried out by expert personnel and the sterilization checks are evaluated in our microbiological laboratory.
In addition to these particularly sensitive facilities, the water from dental units must also be tested for contamination at least once a year in accordance with the RKI recommendation “Infection prevention in dentistry - hygiene requirements.”
