Your accredited test laboratories
Precision, flexibility and speed in the area of analytical problem solving
Qualified sampling is the key to representative analysis. We offer you the service of professional sampling of a wide variety of materials. We regularly take samples of ferroalloys, alloy slags, carburizing materials, minerals, and additives for foundries and steelworks, such as FeSi and SiC in cement-bonded briquettes. We also sample ores and scrap, fuels such as coal and secondary fuels such as waste wood, residual and recyclable materials, as well as construction products, road rubble, and other environmental matrices.
The containers for the wide variety of products to be sampled range from small quantities in the gram range to barrels and big bags to containers, stockpiles, and entire ship loads.
With our locations in the southern Sauerland region and the Ruhr area, in the world's largest inland port, we are able to take not only samples on site at short notice, but also within Germany and neighboring European countries.
Our samplers have a wealth of experience and bring the utmost care and expertise to the work they do. In addition to accredited sampling in the areas mentioned, we also offer the services of a publicly appointed and sworn sampler for ferroalloys, foundry products, ores, and metals. We also provide documentation in the form of reports and photos. Furthermore, we support you with one-off or periodic sampling and are also happy to take care of the planning for you.
In addition to sampling, sieve analyses, moisture determinations, bulk densities, loading controls, weight determinations, processing monitoring, and condition assessments of ship and truck holds are also among the regular tasks that we can perform for our customers.
The purpose of sampling can be varied. Sampling according to LAGA PN98 describes the sampling of bulk materials in order to determine their composition, usually for the purpose of waste disposal or the reuse of recyclable building materials or excavated soil.
However, preliminary investigations are also carried out on site, for example in the run-up to construction work, whereby samples are taken in situ from several excavations in order to plan the disposal of the excavated soil.
If you purchase a plot of land, our trained staff can sample the relevant sub-areas for the purpose of usage-related assessment of land with contaminated sites or harmful soil changes (such as suspected contaminated sites).
For the purpose of recycling or disposal of waste, we can sample a wide variety of waste types on construction sites or in industrial plants. These include:
Soil
Construction waste, recycled material
Waste wood
Filter dust
Slag
Various types of waste, residual and recyclable materials
Incoming inspections of refractory materials and ceramic raw materials are essential for inspections and quality checks. They serve to obtain information about the average values of the characteristics of a delivery. Monitoring the production process and the end product is also often necessary.
Depending on the issue at hand, the sampling strategy and the correct sampling point can be essential for the result.
Samples are taken during the loading and unloading of bulk goods and from packaging, transport, and storage units. We sample your refractory materials and mineral raw materials in accordance with the relevant standards:
DIN 51061
DIN EN ISO 1927-2
Before alloys are used, it is important to carry out quality controls to determine the optimum amount for use in your process. You can rely on our trained and expert staff for this. Through careful planning of sampling locations and adherence to deadlines, as well as short distances to our laboratory, we can guarantee recognized and rapid quality control. We sample your alloys from both bulk materials and big bags.
We sample in accordance with the following current standards:
ISO 4552-1
ISO 4552-2
For reliable analyses, sampling must also be reliable and precise. We ensure that your material to be sampled is taken professionally, safely, efficiently, and traceably, thus guaranteeing quality controls, delivery records, or process optimization. We take, document, and prepare your samples. Our sampling procedures for solid fuels, biofuels, secondary fuels, and carbonizing agents such as coke, coal, green coke, or graphite comply with recognized standards and guarantee representative results.
Metals are highly recyclable, as they can be remelted and processed into new steel or other metal products. For determining the concentration of the various metals in the scrap and add them back to the melt, representative sampling is necessary.
Scrap can vary greatly, from homogeneous single fractions such as sorted metal scrap or alloyed scrap to highly inhomogeneous mixtures such as waste incineration scrap and battery scrap, as well as scrap with low metal content and high foreign matter content such as recyclables from the Dual System (DSD packages, loose DSD), tire wire, or electronic scrap. This poses a major challenge when it comes to determining the correct sampling strategy.
We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
In addition to standard-compliant, accredited sampling, we also prepare your samples for the respective analysis and analyze them at one of our laboratory locations.
