Precision Starts with Sample Preparation

– 23.04.2026

In analytical laboratories, the quality of sample preparation determines the reliability of every analysis. To process large quantities of material quickly, uniformly, and reproducibly, we have invested in a modern, high-performance crushing line at our Hünsborn facility.

Why is sample preparation so crucial?

In geology, metallurgy, or environmental analysis, only a uniform, defined particle size distribution enables precise, comparable, and robust measurement results. Inhomogeneous samples, on the other hand, lead to distorted analyses, unreliable data, and, in the worst case, misinterpretations.

The large jaw crusher meets the high demands of analytical processes and provides the basis for reproducible, consistent, homogeneous, and reliable samples.

Powerful & flexible

The crusher really shows its strengths when dealing with large quantities of material or coarse initial grain sizes. It doesn’t matter what material it’s crushing: The machine makes short work of bricks, concrete, rocks, and much more. For sample preparation, material pieces up to 300 mm can be crushed without any problems.

The hydraulically adjustable crusher jaws enable precisely defined product sizes between 20 mm and 100 mm. This is a decisive advantage when it comes to standardized laboratory processes.

Screening for maximum analytical accuracy

After crushing, the material is transported fully automatically via a conveyor belt to the screening system. There, up to three screens can be used simultaneously to precisely set the desired particle size distribution.

With a wide selection of screen diameters ranging from 2 mm to 125 mm, a wide variety of fractions can be produced. The crushing line is therefore ideal for:

  • representative sampling
  • homogenization of large quantities of material
  • preparation for chemical or mineralogical analyses
  • defined particle size ranges for subsequent laboratory processes

Depending on requirements, the material can be crushed only, screened only, or processed in a combined process.

Efficiency that makes a difference in the laboratory

Our experience shows that the crusher is an indispensable tool for the homogenization, comminution, and screening of materials such as ores, and that it noticeably improves the quality of the analytical data.
